About Elder Care Alliance

Elder Care Alliance has been serving seniors and their families in California for nearly 20 years, but our history stretches back even further.

We trace our history to the 1907 opening of Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland, founded by the Sisters of Mercy. In 1997, Mercy and Salem Lutheran Home came together, and with the support of Dignity Health, Elder Care Alliance was formed. From day one, our mission and vision have been centered on the care of seniors – putting their well-being and dignity at the forefront of all we do.

Elder Care Alliance Communities

Today, Elder Care Alliance is a network of five communities: Mercy Retirement & Care Center, AlmaVia of San Francisco, AlmaVia of San Rafael and AlmaVia of Camarillo in Southern California. Our newest addition to the Elder Care Alliance family is The Villa at San Mateo.

Through a focus on our core values of dignity, caring and excellence, Elder Care Alliance strives to deliver high-quality care supported by an integrated software platform with electronic health records. In all of our communities, assisted living hospitalization and readmission rates are consistently half of other providers, as formerly reported to the California Assisted Living Association. A Culture of Caring

Two of Elder Care Alliance’s core values are dignity and caring. For more than 30 years, the Mercy Brown Bag Program has filled sacks with nutritious groceries for Bay Area seniors in need. Learn more about this innovative program where seniors are helping seniors.
