1st United Services Credit Union

Our Mission
To provide a lifetime of simpler, faster, friendlier financial services for our members.

1st United Services Credit Union has a long history of service in the Bay Area and has the distinction of being one of the first credit unions in the State of California. The credit union was originally founded in 1932 as City & County Employees’ Credit Union in order to serve Alameda County Employees. The field of membership was expanded shortly thereafter to include employees of cities and school districts located within Alameda County.

In 1996, CCECU merged with ALFA Federal Credit Union, founded in 1941 as the financial institution for Naval Bases in Alameda, Lemoore, Concord and Fallon, NV. To more accurately describe the combined civil and military service resulting from the merger, the name 1st United Services Credit Union was chosen. In addition to city, county, and military, 1st USCU’s field of membership includes select companies and other public agencies.

In 2001, 1st United Services Credit Union became a community chartered credit union. Membership is open to anyone who resides, works, or attends school in Alameda or Contra Costa counties in California. 1st USCU is pleased to offer our members 10 branch locations throughout the California east bay.

Why 1st USCU?

Credit unions are not for profit organizations, unlike banks, which are in the business of making money for their shareholders. Membership entitles you to share as a “financial partner.” Rather than paying stockholders, credit unions return earnings to members in the form of higher dividends and lower loan rates. This means you can enjoy low cost loans and higher yields on savings and investment options.

Financial Partners Credit Union
“Building Lifetime Financial Partnerships”

For over 80 years, Financial Partners Credit Union has provided affordable banking services to Californians. With generally lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and lower fees than the big banks, the emphasis at Financial Partners is on providing value and the highest level of service to our members.

What makes us different from a bank? Part of it is our not-for-profit, cooperative structure. Financial Partners is owned by our members, not Wall Street, so we’re committed to doing what’s best for them, rather than the bottom line.

At the same time, we truly believe that focusing on service and member satisfaction is the right thing to do. Our members aren’t just figures on a balance sheet. Our mission is to build lifetime financial partnerships.

Because of our members, we now have over $1.3 billion in assets, over 80,000 members, and branches across California, from South San Francisco to San Diego. But one thing hasn’t changed since our start in 1937: our focus is on saving money, making money, and saving time for our members.
