Andrew Alatorre, EA graduated from Saint Mary’s
College, in Moraga, CA with a Bachelor of Science in
Accounting.  Upon graduation he applied his
accounting knowledge in the banking industry and
spent several years as an internal auditor.  After
leaving banking, Andrew expanded on his accounting
background and began preparing taxes.  Since 1997,
Andrew has prepared a variety of individual and
business returns, ranging from simple to very complex.
Andrew took and passed the IRS Special Enrollment
Examination in 2003 earning him Enrolled Agent
status.  As an Enrolled Agent (EA) he has assisted and
represented clients with IRS audits.

Lloyd Phraner, EA, an Alameda native and graduate
of St. Joseph High School, has an Engineering degree
from Harvey Mudd College and earned his MBA from
the Corvinus University of Budapest.  Lloyd has been a
practicing Professional Tax Preparer for 9 years, and
during the off season assists clients with information
requests and audits from the IRS and California State
Franchise Tax Board.   During late spring and summer
months at his office in Budapest, Hungary, Lloyd
assists American citizens and other residents required
to file US taxes.  He is specifically named as a Tax
Advisor by the United States Embassy in Budapest.

Rhonda’s passion is to work with the firm’s CEO to build structure around the functional areas of accounting and human resource management.  Through the trust she builds with the owner she is able to step into the cash management aspect of the business so the owner can focus on creating services and products that better serve their clients.  Because of Rhonda’s expertise at growing her client’s business they have been able to launch new product lines and purchase real property for their businesses.

Rhonda has a degree in accounting theory and an MBA in human resources and finance.  For thirty years she has acted as in-house controller with a focus in the high tech, marketing & advertising, architecture & design sectors.  Her sweet spot is working for sole proprietors, S Corps, LLCs to mid-size C-corps of fifty employees and everything in between.

Rhonda is able to see both the big picture and the smallest details, allowing her to create transparent processes and systems that organize the financial lives of her clients’ businesses.  She has served in business capacities ranging from bookkeeper to general ledger accountant to controller and now serve clients as a consultant CFO.

Rhonda knows that running a business is a collaborative effort, which is why she has partnered with other professional services such as CPA, corporate attorneys, payroll companies and banking institutions, to provide her clients with a full scope of business services.

In her spare time, she reads the Harvard Business Review and the Wall Street Journal to keep herself current with developments that could impact her clients’ bottom line.

The Firm was founded in 1955 by Wesley F. Suman in Alameda, California. In 1986, a second office in Danville was opened to service the rapidly growing Contra Costa County. In 1995, we merged our Alameda office into the Danville office and continue to serve the City of Alameda and Alameda County in addition to Contra Costa County and the Tri-Valley area. We moved a few miles south in August of 2007 from Danville to our present location in San Ramon, California. Over the years, we have remained a local firm serving closely held business and individual clients.

We are a “peer review” firm and have been so for over twenty years. Our accounting practices and procedures are reviewed by other CPA’s every three years. Results are shared with the California Society of CPA’s and the California State Board of Accountancy. All of our peer reviews have been “unqualified” which is the best report for peer review.

Our main focus is the closely held business – proprietorships, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies – and their tax and business planning needs. These needs often include estate and trust tax planning. A closely held business is an entity owned by an individual, family, or small group of partners or shareholders. Clients include many service sector professionals such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, veterinarians, insurance, real estate, financial, accounting, printing, marketing, and recreation. We also have clients in other sectors such as technology, and manufacturing.

Our primary client contact person is a partner of the firm. We are sincere about providing a high level of timely, personal and customized service at competitive rates.
