City to Raise Its Minimum Wage

Last fall, the City Council adopted a Minimum Wage Ordinance to raise the local minimum wage above the State of California’s requirements.  Beginning July 1, 2019, the City’s Minimum Wage will be $13.50 per hour, regardless the size of the business or the number of employees.  Next year, on July 1, 2020, the City’s Minimum Wage will then increase to $15.00 per hour.

Starting on July 1, 2022 (and every July 1 after that), the City’s Minimum Wage will be adjusted by the annual Consumer Price Index with a cap of five percent (5%) per year.  The chart below describes the adjustments.
