A Special Father’s Day Gift

A Special Father’s Day Gift
from the Alameda Business Community

Michael McDonough

It takes a village to produce a major event like the JAM at Neptune Beach. The 2015 JAM required hundreds of volunteers, extensive planning and, of course, a large number of dollars to create what promises to be Alameda’s Premier Family Fun Event. Alameda is fortunate to have businesses who give back to the community and residents who come out in numbers to support them.

This year a record number of businesses stepped up to help make the 2015 JAM the biggest and best Father’s Day present a Dad could ever imagine. The Zippin’ Zone Zip Line, the Ferris Wheel, Giant Fun Slide, the live music and all of the other attractions were made possible by the sponsors of the event. The Alameda Chamber of Commerce would like to give a very special thank you to the following generous businesses for offering their support of the Chamber and the community of Alameda.

Alameda Point Partners

Alameda Point Partners is a true Bay Area Team with broad local relationships and expertise in creating a range of mixed-use communities. The Alameda Point Partners Site A project is the catalyst for transforming Alameda’s former Naval Air Station into a thriving business hub that will benefit the residents and businesses of the entire island of Alameda.

With its waterfront amenities and unparalleled vistas of San Francisco, Site A will become a regional destination for shopping, dining, water activities and other entertainment. This project will replace the failing infrastructure at Alameda Point, kick starting an effort to strengthen and rebuild the backbone of the point so that businesses can not only survive, but thrive at this now languishing landmark.

Joe Ernst of srmERNST, is personally invested in the community as an Alameda resident, neighbor and business member of 14 years, raising his family here.  He understands what quality of life means to many Alamedans and is committed to preserving this.

Catellus is a national leader in mixed-use development, solving some of America’s most complex land challenges. The most recent addition to the Catellus portfolio is Alameda Landing, situated at the new gateway to Alameda. Once home to the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Industrial Supply Center, Alameda Landing is a 72-acre mixed-use development that will revitalize the area with new homes, premier waterfront dining, shops, office space and retail opportunities.

Alameda Landing offers opportunities to shop, dine and play in a sustainably designed community that celebrates the breath taking bayside location. Dine along the waterfront or stroll through the distinctive outdoor shopping center and experience the uniqueblend of speacialty retailers and restaurants. With a historical and decidedly cool vibe, you’ll immediately feel inclined to explore and experience Alameda Landing.

Alameda Point Craft Soda

Alameda Point Craft Soda is a locally produced fountain drink owned and distributed by Brix Beverage, one of Alameda Point’s new businesses. Alameda Point Craft Soda is an alternative to mass-market soda sweetened with real cane sugar, maple syrup and stevia. Its clients can now pour a local craft soda out of a gun at a great value. Its Classic CaneCola has a taste profile similar to Mexican Coke but with no corn syrup. Brix has plans to bottle its craft soda in the near future which will give patrons another healthy alternative to quench their thirst.

Argosy University

The JAM is proud to present Argosy University as the sponsor of the Community Stage. Alameda is the home of Argosy’s San Francisco campus, one of 19 campuses across the nation. Argosy University supports one of the largest communities of graduate students in the nation as well as an active, thriving undergraduate community. Their supportive academic environment emphasizes teaching and practical training across the areas of education, business, health sciences and psychology. Each of its programs are designed to instill the knowledge, ethical values, and interpersonal skills of professional practice and to foster values of social responsibility in a supportive, learner-centered environment of mutual respect and academic excellence. Their sponsorship sets a shining example for our community’s student performers who will thrill family and friends on the Argosy University Community Stage near Haight Avenue.

Bay Ship & Yacht

Bay Ship & Yacht has been one of the JAM’s most consistent sponsors for many years. For over 30 years Bay Ship has been regarded as one of the West Coast’s premier shipyards, providing a complete range of superyacht refit and repair services for both modern and traditional vessels.  As one of Alameda’s largest employers, Bay Ship & Yacht is a pillar of Alameda’s maritime industry and contributes a great deal to the community in both spirit and dollars.

The Jam is proud to add the new Alameda Landing Safeway store to its lineup of sponsors. As one of the anchor tenants of Alameda Landing, the new Safeway gives West End residents a state of the art grocery experience, complete with fueling station. Safeway’s sponsorship of the JAM demonstrates their commitment to the community and their support of the Chamber of Commerce is very much appreciated.
